Community crafting experiences to watch, guide, and bring our minds into the present!

The purpose of these practicesat/exercises/games described below is to focus the mind.

We use the term "games" as we don't want to take ourselves seriously + to prime ourselves to discard these if they don't work (or work too well and become an attachment).

We are trying them here at Mud and Roses HQ, but we hope you will try these at home and let us know how it goes!

Take four rolls of toilet paper and put a label above each. Here at HQ we chose "Presence. Wonder. Serenity. Joy" You can choose any four that you wish. You pick up the one that corresponds to the state you are feeling or want to feel. If you are focused, it can alter your mood, or celebrate the state you are in "officially" (as official as toilet paper can be of course). Read more / see more pictures.

Walking meditation is popular in Buddhism, so not much to add here about it. You just walk and feel your feet on the ground. In some ways this is more important than sitting meditation, I think, as it puts you in the world.

This board can go on the floor or on the wall, each triangle fades into a different color. Unlike staring at the wall or a flame, this provides variety, but is abstract. I've been meditating to this each day and I love it. If you want to buy one, let me know! They are a bit pricy though (around $300)

If you want to share a game/practice, email me the idea and a picture of it:
